Back after injury………

Category: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:47 am

So after 6 weeks off and a week in “Recovery mode” i finally find myself still struggling on……

i went upto Shipley glen with Kyle who works with me for a bit, i took both bikes, my Limey2 and my freshly built Zona Zenith, just wanted to compare them both and see which i preffered.

After been there a matter of minutes i found where my problems were lying and managed to “stretch” some of the lazyness out of myself. but in all fairness its going to take a while longer before i start to get back to “how i was” foot was feeling nice and strong and deffinatly better for it, all i couldnt do was really push power thru the sole of my foot and thru the pedal, so alot of things went out of the window,.

INSTEAD! i came up with the idea that i would push the pain barrier!!! pedal hard for a revolution or 2 (dependant on run up size to obstacle) the try bunnyhop and flow thru a line i was contemplating. Turned into a good laugh and tended to find myself in situations that had very positive out comings than i expected.

All in all a good day back at the office and a stepping stone in the line of “Recovery” im going to rest for a few days now and probably take it easy, maybe do a 20mile XC ride at some point on my Marin Mount Vision steed!

UCI World Cup and World Championship Dates

Category: Uncategorized — admin @ 8:38 am

11.04.2008 13.04.2008 UCI Trials World Cup Barcelona ESP

16.06.2008 22.06.2008 UCI Trials World Championships Val de Sole ITA

26.07.2008 26.07.2008 Trials World Youth Games Nortorf GER

16.08.2008 17.08.2008 UCI Trials World Cup Knokke-Heist BEL

06.09.2008 07.09.2008 UCI Trials World Cup Moutier SUI

Just got the dates and venues off the UCI site as this may apply to other users that visit my site. UCI is becoming a more popular style of riding in the older age categories from around 16+, this is a style of riding which incurs penalty points for you touching you bashplate or guard, pedals etc, the only part of your bike in which is allowed to touch the obstacles is your tyres.

Hope this helps some people. Regards Wayne.

Re-Covered!

Category: Uncategorized — admin @ 9:20 am

Well what a weekend! just spent a few days down in devon, visiting family and friends. was nice to meet some of laura’s family and even her Uncle who is/was one of the “Top” cops in devon was a great laugh. Meeting her cousins Scott and Guy who are pretty laid back and relaxed surfer dudes! hopefully going back down in the summer to catch some “Surf!”

Anyway, on a better note, the trip was also arranged in and around my ankle injury. as i was due to come out of the cast on the sunday. unfortunatly Si was going to be less available on the time we had arranged with his busy schedule.

Instead we met on the saturday, he came round to laura’s sister and friends house where he removed the pot and began fettling the foot to try put some life back into it. Some things were quite funny, some things were not.

Walking: CHRIST! i had forgotten how hard it was to walk WITHOUT the aid of crutches. i then found myself walking like a bloody tart!!!! pussy footing around and unable to put adequete pressure on my left foot (which also for anyones un useful information is my strong/chocolate foot) so the fun and games are sure to begin very soon. (when i can actually stand over my bike and ride around)

Si gave me some really basic things to do to loosen my tendons up and to get me back upto speed within a month or so. alot of people dont appreciate what others can do to help you get better fast but also the advise they actually give you BEFORE a problem occurs. Si was 110% with me all the way thru my damaged ankle and torn ligaments. i was probably 40% convinced that i would ever be able to say my ankle felt loads better than it did. i cant yet, but from the “looks” of it and how it moves and the range of movement compared to the other foot (my right) it does seem that my ligaments are back to full strength and at their best (well in my left foot)

This is just a big thanks to Si Lord (Physio) for all his help and advise thru the healing process and also his patience in explaining things to me. making it more clearer to me what has happened and just HOW much better it will be.

If i could advise anyone or anyone out there that has ANY problems with your ankles thru trials or just general sport, DONT go to your local GP or local Physio, see or speak to someone who specialises in the area of injury.

Trials and Cars/Vans.

Category: Uncategorized — admin @ 6:09 pm

Just got back in from a busy day down at In Pulse where the rebuilding of my C20LET engine is progressing nicely!!! im hoping for it complete by the early/mid Feb, fingers crossed it will be a 300+ BHP monster as it was all them 7 months ago i started stripping the engine down, for minor upgrades for power increase.
Cheers to Mark & Gaz at inpulse for been so patient and helping instruct me on what to do! i am sick of polishing things now, i just want the engine back in the van and to be able to drive it (but as the saying goes, “take your time” its not as if i can drive it at the moment with the pot on me foot)
We have just bumped into 1 small problem with the turbo narrowly touching the block. Cheers to Mark feather for sorting the manifold out in quick time and also making and producing the brackets for the turbo to be enabled to fit my engine.
ANYWAY more on that when its finished and in the van.
Back to trials, its the AGM meeting tonight for Tyke Trial for all the up and coming fixtures, so keep checking back as over the weekend i will hopefully have uploaded the dates of the new competition series from tykes, also i will have the dates uploaded to the site for the British Championship and also the National Championship.

best get sorted as iv just got out of the bath, got my tea waiting then time to set off for the meeting.

and 1 last thing, im counting down to is the removal of my pot from my left foot, next friday il be taking a trip down to see Si the Physio for him to remove the pot from my leg and also give me some physio and also advice on what to do to build it back upto strength ASAP!

So its all happening, cant wait to get me pot off me leg and start working towards getting back on me bike and also me van getting back on the road, then ripping down york dragway at easter.
